The truth is you can never tell yourself there is only one thing you could be. If you are a priest or if you marry a woman it’s the same challenge. You cannot make a real commitment unless you accept that it’s a choice that you keep making again and again and again.

I’m watching a Lloydie and Bea movie on cinema one. Rainy Sunday. I saw Helen last night for the first time since she left for Singapore. I’ve missed her terribly, and hugging her felt painful, for some reason.

I saw the movie Keeping the Faith on HBO earlier. So priests do go astray. But it’s a matter of making a choice over and over to what you’ve chosen to do, because no one can ever tell you you can only be one thing in this life. But you just have to admit that it’s a matter of choice to stick to it. I hope Kathy will get out of that sick cycle soon. And I hope that priest who has misled her will be forgiven.

Here’s a simplification of everything we’re going through: you plus me is bad news.

Love on the Rocks, Sara Bareilles.  I LOVE this line.  I could be in a perfectly happy relationship with absolutely no “bad news” (har har), and I’d still LOVE this line because it’s fantastically rhythmic, blunt, hilarious, and awesome. (via thoughtsfromchristine)

He ignores you, but you like him. He does nothing, but you fall for him. You miss him, even though you know he’s never thought about you.
