I’ve had a really stressful week. At work and at home, my dad had his first ER experience the other night and I knew it was serious because he’s not the type to resort to going to hospitals unless necessary. We came home at about 5 am and he seemed better but last night he complained of dyspnea that was quite persistent and we actually went back to the same hospital where he was advised to stay for the night since it might have something to do with his heart problem that was diagnosed years ago that he chose to ignore because he was feeling ‘fine’ then. Anyway, he was advised to transfer to the ICU for better monitoring, honestly I don’t know what is really going on because the test results don’t come back til tomorrow but already he has to be in ICU. I hope it’s nothing serious. I’m exhausted beyond words lately, with so much work load and my dad’s incident.
While at the hospital, I observed how hospital staff work and I realized that the Philippine government really should let medical professionals earn more here in the Philippines because we are really sending good, compassionate people out of the country instead of serving their fellow men who need their service the most. The government should really do something about this. Make health care professionals stay, because the hard work and dedication is immeasurable.
